Global Warming

The number of category 4 and 5 hurricanes has doubled in the last 30 years.At the time of Al Gore’s documentary An Inconvenient truth, this was true. Hurricanes were happening much more frequently then the ever had before. But since the movie had been released, the number of hurricanes each year has been in decline. There were many more category 4 and 5 hurricanes before and during the time that Al Gore made his documentary, and he number of hurricanes hasn’t followed the pattern that he thought that they would.

Humans are using many different types of ways in order to deal with climate change. Many of the ways we are using are based around technology. We are using things like solar panels, winds turbines, and LED lights to help fight the change. These high-tech solution will help us with global warming but there are also some low tech solutions that will help. These low tech solutions include recycling, unplugging electronic appliances when you are done with them, and turning off lights when you leave a room. All of things things are things that humans are doing to avert global warming

There are many ways that society can change I order to deal with problems associated with global warming. In order to lower our CO2 footprint, we can install programmable thermostats, install LED light bulbs, use more insulation in our homes, walk instead of driving, carpool and many other things. Societal values will affect the lifestyle choices that we make. For example if we focus less on accumulating wealth and more on world unity, efficiency, and resourcefulness, this world will become a better place to live for everyone. Cities such as Vancouver and communities such as Sutherland can take strategies in order to address global warming. We can raise awareness, stop littering, plant more trees and plants and much more. I feel like the government should have a big role in supporting efforts to minimize climate change. They should give more money to helping the environment because without an environment there won’t even be a

government.
