Has Category "4" and "5" hurricanes doubled in the past 30 years?

We all know that global warming is changing our planet, the earth is warming up and melting the ice making the ocean levels rise, animals are becoming extinct because of drought and such. One thing is that the number of category 4 and 5 hurricanes has almost doubled in the last 30 years. Hurricanes form when warm moist air rises and swirls around to make a big spiral that can be devastating, or very minor. Hurricanes are powered by warm moist air, when they go over the warm ocean the hurricane increases in power, like how Hurricane Katrina did. With the rising ocean temperatures, there are going to be more hurricanes in the future unless we can fix global warming issues. Global crisis’s are still occurring around the world because of global warming, so unless we start doing stuff differently we wont be able to fight global warming in the future.

Technology is developing drastically. We have so many new things that weren’t even known 10 years back. With the new technology we are developing, we can slow down global warming and make a change. A good example of how technology is slowing down global warming is the use of hybrid cars. These cars run on gas but also run on electricity, reducing the amount of CO2 released. Natural resources are playing a big role too, wind turbines and solar panels help provide electricity without harming the environment. Other ways people are helping the environment is the use of recycling or planting trees in there back yard. There are a lot of products out there at our local stores that will help slow down global warming, like LED light bulbs or major appliances with maximum energy efficiency.


If everyone does something to help the environment, global warming can come to a stop. Everyone can buy hybrid cars or take another way of transport like walking and cycling. Communities like Sutherland can address global warming by telling students to recycle, or they can communicate through media since many students are on the internet or watching TV. The government can play a major role in reducing global warming, he can support us by shutting down or telling companies to stop what there doing and find a new way to make their stuff without as much pollution. He can even drive a hybrid car and recycle to motivate people to do the same.
